07 Apr European Science and Technology Innovation Center Launch in Wuxi

On March 28, 2019, the opening ceremony of the European Science and Technology Innovation Center（Wuxi Sub-Center）and the China-EU Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Dialogue was successfully held in Wuxi. Leaders from Wuxi government and executives from CENT Group gathered together to discuss the future development of the Europe and Chinese technology transfer and international trade between two economies.

First, Tao Zhou, head of the European Science and Technology Innovation Center in Whxi, and Co-Funder & Group Vice President at CENTI Group, led all the guests to visit the innovation center working space, showed the remarkable achievements of scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship in Xishan District of Wuxi in recent years, and also showed the fruitful results of the multinational ecological chain of transformation of scientific and technological exchanges of CENTI in central Europe since the establishment of European Science and Technology Innovation Center.

First of all, he expressed his thanks to the trust and support from the Wuxi Government and extended a warm welcome to all the guests present. With the impact of globalization and China’s the Belt and Road Initiative, CENTI could help Wuxi create the ecosystem between China and Europe. Xishan District is also actively promoting cross-border technology collaboration between enterprises. With the support of Wuxi government, CENTI will deepen the connections between China and European companies and associations in tech sector.

Afterwards, Jingwei Meng, director of Wuxi Cuiping Mountain Tourism Resort Management Office, delivered a speech. He hoped that through such transnational exchange activities, Wuxi would speed up the internationalization process and further promote the exchange of talents, projects, carriers and funds between China and Europe. The integration of cross-border forces would bring more resources and opportunities for Wuxi’s international layout.

Hong Dou, head of Organization Department in Xishan District, said in her speech that with the further operation of the Wuxi branch and CENTI, there would be more international top resources, high-quality projects gather in Xishan, so as to create a more superior innovation and entrepreneurship environment to the trade and connections.

Next, Jingwei Meng, director of Wuxi Cuiping Mountain Tourism Resort Management Office; Shijie Tang, deputy head of Xishan District; Hong Dou, head of Organization Department in Xishan District; Russ Shaw, the founder GTA&TLA; John Zai, founder and CEO of CENTI Group and Tao Zhou, head of the European Science and Technology Innovation Center（Wuxi Sub-Center）unveiled the European Science and Technology Innovation Center together.

With the help of the European Science and Technology Innovation Center, CENTI will help to build ecosystem for exchanges between local and Europe enterprises, so that all community members could expand their business, connect resources, and promote international cooperation.

And then, as a special guest, Russ Shaw, founder of Global Tech Advocates(GTA) and Tech London Advocates(TLA) and London Tech Ambassador for the Mayor of London, gave a wonderful keynote address. He said, the best tech companies must hold a global vision, and they needed to make deals with the world and looked into new markets. Tech entrepreneurs needed to find new opportunities, talents, ideas and investments in technology centers overboard. Therefore, he hoped that the European Science and Technology Innovation Center would make better industrial environment and create a solid relationship, so that Wuxi would gradually become an international innovation center as London.

Recently, with the help of CENTI, the second Chinese member of GTA, Tech Shenzhen Advocates launched in Shenzhen, China. On behalf of GTA, Russ has authorized CENTI as the founder of GTA China. Wendy Zhao, the Partner and General Manager of Shanghai Office at CENTI Group, has accepted this mission as a representative to lead GTA to expand business into China.

So far, the opening ceremony of Wuxi branch of the European Science and Technology Innovation Center and the China-EU Science and Technology Innovation Exchange Dialogue have come to a successful conclusion. CENTI would go forward to bring outstanding oversea projects back to Wuxi and help to boost the cooperation between Europe and China.
