Denmark – Module 1 International Mentoring Programme
The aim of the international mentoring programme is to help women launch and grow new/early stage businesses supported by digital/technology, through a structured, hands-on programme tailored to each mentee’s needs.
The international mentoring programme offers each mentee:
Hands-on mentoring: 2 hand-picked Danish and/or international “Rockstar” mentors to match individual mentee goals and needs.
One-to-one ‘Office Hours’ with experts: Access to business, legal, financial, technical and other professional advice delivered by Tech Nordic Advocates and Programme partners in Denmark and internationally.
Skills development/competence building (the Programme’s own ‘business school)’: National and international experts teach mentees the critical ‘hard’ (business, legal, technical) and ‘soft’ skills (e.g. personal branding, executive presence, communication skills) they need to launch, grow and scale digital/tech businesses supported by networking with Danish and international Programme peers, mentors and partners. Mix of virtual and physical events.
Community events & networks: A unique opportunity to build new networks through the Programme’s own and wider ecosystem events in Denmark and internationally, access to the Programme’s community platform and Tech Nordic Advocates international Women in Tech Community on LinkedIn.
Danish and international global ecosystem: Access to peers, experts and new potential partners and clients across Tech Nordic Advocates‘ and Global Tech Advocates‘ impact ecosystem.
The aim and contents of 1-5 is to help Programme participants complete the Programme and required output (see below), tailored to the 3 target groups below.
The Programme is aimed at highly motivated women with an entrepreneurial and growth mindset, passion and drive to launch a new or grow an already launched early stage business in the digital/technology sector:
Pre-startup (Group 1): Women with a great business idea to solve a real problem supported by digital/technology
Recently launched/early stage startup (Group 2): women who have already launched a business in the digital/tech space and could do with a little help to grow their early stage businesses
Early stage businesses with revenue (Group 3): women who have launched a digital/tech sector business which is revenue generating who could do with support from Danish/international mentors/experts who can help accelerate their growth
Selected applicants must be:
Able to commit 6 months part-time to the Programme (time investment per 1-5 in ‘What do I get if I join the Programme’ above, and own time to produce the Programme output – see next section)
Committed to completing the Programme and required output (see next section)
Dedicated to solving a defined business problem using technology
Committed to launching/growing/scaling a digital/tech startup
Driven, coachable and collaborative with an open and adaptable mindset
The Programme is high-impact, aimed at women, who are serious about launching and growing a digital/tech startup/scaleup and meet the above criteria. At the end of the Programme (completion criterion), participants are expected to produce:
An executable business plan to launch and/or grow a digital/tech startup
The Programme is designed to give participants the support they need to achieve that.
There is no cost – the Programme is funded by Industriens Fond, private partners and Tech Nordic Advocates.
Applicants selected for the Programme pay a joining deposit of 2000 Kr, returned on completion of the Programme and required output (business/growth/expansion plan). Deposits are not returned to participants who do not complete the Programme/output

What’s the Role of Mentors?
Danish and international Mentors play a crucial role in helping Programme Participants and the Programme as a whole achieve the stated goals. As per ‘What is the International Mentoring Programme?’ above, the Programme offers selected high potential prospective and current female founders/leaders in tech in Denmark access to:
Hands-on mentoring: 2 hand-picked Danish and/or international “Rockstar” mentors to match individual goals. Programme participants are asked at application stage to state preferred mentor characteristics (e.g. business/technical/sales/marketing/specific industry sector expertise, hard (e.g. business planning)/soft (e.g personal branding) skills and preferred mix of Danish/international/female/male mentors.
The Programme is looking for mentors with a mix of those characteristics and a track record as entrepreneurs/business leaders/experts/investors.
Programme Participants are matched with 2 mentors, based on their stated preferences and Programme mentor profiles.
